Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multicultural family. Born in South London. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, and her mother is English. She was born on the south London Council Estate. She attended The Brit School aged 14. She went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an acting BA. As a student at the academy was when she performed in various stage plays, including King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career in the film Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the character of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. The film's success resulted in her being cast as Elisha as a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). Theatre credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes in the US on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge from February 2011. After appearing on the show for the initial two seasons it was announced in May 2013 that Madekwe was set to quit the show following her appearance on the first episode in the season's third. She starred as Tituba on the show Salem between 2014 and the year 2016. From June to July 2012, the actress got married to her long-time partner, actor Iddo Goldberg. They collaborated in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, hails from a large Hamilton family. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty together with four older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who are all sportsmen, played in the summer months and play hockey during winter. Ashley was never able to walk but she was able to dance. When she turned two-and-a-half she started Baby Ballet and fell in the love. Ashley was enthralled by dance following this. When she was in High School, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. She was crowned the top soloist at each of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 5-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
